Helping people to let go of the past and the mess that comes along with it is Helen's job; she's a successful British entrepreneur living in Boston. She's confident that there is no client she can't handle-that is until her friend Thomas hires her services to help his father, Simon Conrad, before the Christmas season that year. In the welcoming town of Montpelier, Vermont, a divorced father who filled his empty nest with trinkets and mementos to keep the loneliness and regret at bay, Simon is determined to resist Helen's efforts. Despite his determination to drive her away, he finds himself warming up to his new temporary housemate, and the boundaries between them begin to blur. When it's time for Helen to take her leave, can Simon let her go? Will Helen find the drive to go back to her normal life?
