The Book of the Duke of True Lovers is a medieval romance novel written by Christine de Pisan in 1908. The story is set in the court of King Charles V of France and follows the love affair between the Duke of Orleans and a noblewoman named Valentine. The Duke is deeply in love with Valentine, but their relationship is threatened by the jealousy of the Duke's cousin, the Count of Armagnac. The book is written in a poetic and lyrical style, with vivid descriptions of the courtly life and the emotions of the characters. It is also notable for its feminist themes, as Christine de Pisan was one of the first female writers to challenge the traditional roles of women in medieval society.
