During my freshman year of high school, I decided that I would publish a poetry book by the time I graduated: a compilation of pain that looked pretty on paper. Over time, I came up with excuses as to why I shouldn't- my main reason being that I knew no matter how hard I tried, I wouldn't be able to perfect it. Now, I am sitting here writing my poetry book because I've realized that maybe imperfection is the point - it shows that I am human and that I grow and evolve. I'm willing to live with any amount of judgment or disapproval if it means that I've also made someone feel seen, heard, and understood. Why live with wasted wounds when I can put them to use?
I've separated my book into four chapters: Obsessed & Depressed, Along the Lines of Love, Whatever's Above, (or a lack thereof), and last but not least, BLOOMING. I am so excited to share with you my high school years put into words. Thank you to everyone who has loved and supported me on this journey. I wouldn't be writing this without you all.
