When you have two small cubs, sometimes the best made plans do not always work out. This is a story of a devoted and loving mother bear who wants to take her cubs out for breakfast. Her patience is challenged when they all get distracted but her willingness to wait a long time for them ultimately proves to be delicious. Birdseeds for Breakfast, was written and illustrated by Sienna Merrifield Giffin. This is her second children's book.
Giffin created her illustrations based on her observations of the mother and cubs that visited one morning in June on her hillside home in Nelson, NH. She playfully illustrates a situation that was not unlike what she would have encountered with her own, now grown cubs. Giving credit to all the very patient mother bears and father bears who do their absolute best and to their curious cubs who love them.
