It is difficult to imagine life without birds. City and country people throughout the world enjoy seeing them and hearing their songs. In this book, H. G. Moser presents poems derived from a lifetime of observing birds in a variety of habitats ranging from marshes to mountain peaks. Many of these poems reflect momentary, often humorous, encounters with our feathered friends. The second part ot the book consists of poems devoted to man's best friend. The human-canine partnership goes back to at least the last glacial period and is evermore important in today's world where a third of American families have one or more dogs. The author's dogs and their fellow canines are the inspiration for this section of the book as they run unleashed through time and the poems devoted to them.
