BEYOND THE OPENED DOORS is a collection of delectably disturbing stories of varied length. As you open each door to enter what lies beyond, you will be taken into surreal realms of the supernatural or the macabre existence of characters that are twisted, deranged or innocent victims of their own misfortune.
This book is not for the fainthearted, there are scenes of graphic torture, both physically and emotionally. You are warned that some of the content will introduce you to depraved characters you never want to meet but might want to liaise with while embroiled within the fantasy of a seductive read. Your journey begins with The Watchmaker, a short story based around a mysterious shop owner who makes unusual watches for special customers, watches that will last a lifetime. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder combined with eccentricity is a toxic mix in The Collector. As Ernest discovers the dark secrets of his new home, and the strange grandfather clock he acquires. He unwittingly follows a predetermined path to committing unspeakable atrocities in this longer short story. Vanity on a superficial level lead Little Miss Perfect to make the worst decision of her short life. My Lady is a tragic tale of a life and love lost through the obsession of something that is not what it seems, in this longer short story. Be wary of reinterpreting what is theft as you may not have time to reflect on your crime in Mirrors, a chilling horror short. When the 13th Bell Tolls, those you condemned to Hell will carry out their retribution upon your tormented soul for all eternity. Set in the time of the French Inquisition, and the near future, justice is cruelly served. The rodent infestation is not what it seems in the tragic story of the Rats. A bitter man creates his interpretation of what lies at the bottom of Poe's pit. With his Pen of Death, he lures his victim to one of the worst deaths imaginable in The Pen and the Publisher. Be wary of what you ask for or you may receive a tattoo of The Crawling Snake. The seemingly innocent competitiveness between two men to grow the best roses uncovers a past crime and a curse waiting to be fulfilled in The Black Rose. Even the most benign old lady has the potential to murder a dirty rat as she is Waiting for Albert. Best to stock up on insecticide if you decide to investigate The Fairy Garden. Be careful of what you ask for when you make the request, Message Me Tomorrow. An obsession with a beautiful woman resembling his late father's wife leads Nick to a foretold fate that lasts until the last leaf falls from the last tree in: The Beauty of Moss and Lichen He didn't believe in ghosts until he became a Ghost. The family must pay for what they have done. As a butterfly flaps its wings, the Execution (by Fractal Whispers) is initiated. There's nothing to be afraid of about visiting the dentist unless it's the old lady in On the Pull Tonight. The Decision is not about whether to live or die, but how to die. Deathly Musings part one and two is a short novella that will take you into dark supernatural realms, spiced with the elixir of life and erotica.
