Ms. Davis, what is the purpose of your visit? He sat poised behind the desk, his elbows resting on the polished mahogany surface, fingertips gently interlocked, his penetrating dark gaze assessing me with intensity.
He was an exceptionally striking individual, even considering my prior associations with a renowned rock musician, a professional athlete, and an airline pilot-each of whom I had regarded as exemplars of physical perfection.
I'm seeking employment, I replied.
He retrieved my resume, perused it with a swift yet thorough glance, and placed the folder neatly atop his desk. I have a proposal to present to you, he stated.
Proposal... I began.
Ms. Davis, I kindly request that you allow me to elaborate without interruption, he interjected firmly.
But Mr. Wright, My response was a spontaneous burst of laughter. I'm looking for a job, not...Your suggestion is entirely unlikely.
May I ask why? Do you find me unattractive? he inquired.
Not at all, but... I conceded.
You've already indicated your urgency in securing both a spouse and a position. What I am proposing is not traditional employment, yet it offers substantial compensation. Upon its conclusion, you will be financially secure for life. So what is your concern?
I don't know you, I explained.
In that case, I propose we rectify that this evening. I have your address on file.
But... I hesitated.
What seems to be the issue now, Ms. Davis? he prompted.
W-what shall I wear? I faltered.
Every woman possesses a black dress. Wear that and be ready by six; I'm never late.
A delightful Vegas-set romantic comedy unfolds with sparkling wit, unexpected turns, and the allure of the Strip, promising a journey of laughter and love.
