Many youth and young adults do not have access to a clear process of training to become effective leaders--let alone to become servant leaders. Servant leaders are not created overnight. Instead, servant leadership has various stages of growth and development, encompassing an ongoing cycle of refining and sharpening one's skills and belief system. These stages are a prerequisite for learning to be an effective leader.
