As Amy stands at an Atlanta busy intersection thinking about her new romance, her sons on the other side of the country, and her mountain of insecurities, she realizes that in a few months there are weekend plans for The Girlfriends to meet up in Palm Beach. Everyone has committed, and now it's Amy's job to find Beth. Amy and Beth have over all the ensuing years since middle school, no less, been there for each other through breast cancer, cheating husbands, and a spiteful daughter; however, the last time Amy actually saw Beth, she behaved rather badly. She still burns with shame as she imagines Beth's hurt feelings. She's never going to find out if she's been forgiven until she swallows her pride and...then oh my God, there she is! As they reunite, while people push around them, Amy can't help but be curious: serendipity or something else? Life is what happens when we're making other plans, right? Well, in this tale of a life-long bond between two women friends, life throws them a curve ball neither of them can foresee.
