Butchie Boy Blue is the story of a man who follows a signal through the dark and finds himself standing in a roller skating rink, invisible to everyone except a ten-year-old boy at the wall who can see him when nobody else can. A boy who knows things about the electromagnetic spectrum that he shouldn't know. A boy who has been waiting for him.
What follows is a walk through a familiar neighborhood, past a church on its corner, a store where someone knew his name, a porch with one chair worn to the shape of one person, to a kitchen that was still broadcasting.
For everyone who has stood at a graveside and refused to believe that the person they loved had simply ceased. For everyone who has been stepping back from the edge of a memory because following it all the way meant accepting what following it meant.
The signal doesn't stop. It just finds a frequency you don't have the receiver for yet.
