Buddy and his friend Blackie have a plan.
Today is the day they'll explore beyond the yard and make their way to the pond-just the two of them, setting out on their next Homewoods adventure.
But in Homewoods, plans don't always unfold the way you expect.
Before they can even leave, the neighborhood's loudest residents-the self-appointed Noise Committee-burst into Buddy's yard in a flurry of yapping and nonstop chatter. What begins as excitement quickly turns into chaos, until King Arthur steps in and restores a bit of order.
With the yard finally quiet again, Buddy and Blackie set off, determined to continue their journey. Along the way, they stop to visit Doc, the wisest of all their friends. But after all the noise and excitement, Buddy begins to feel something unexpected.
Maybe this adventure has been enough for one day.
With a gentle nudge from Doc and a longing for the comfort of home, Buddy makes his way back, knowing the pond-and more adventures with Blackie-will be waiting another day.
Set in the charming world of Homewoods, Buddy Meets the Noise Committee is a warm and beautifully illustrated story about unexpected detours, knowing your limits, and discovering that sometimes the quietest places are the ones that matter most.
Perfect for reading aloud, this story will resonate with young readers and families who understand that growing up doesn't mean doing everything at once-it means learning when to pause, listen, and find your way home.
