What if the blueprint for overcoming adversity and building a life of opportunity in both the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds all traced back to a Hungarian chess master teaching a determined four-year-old how to think several moves ahead?
In BUDAPEST to BOCA, Tom Herskovits shares his remarkable life story, from a failed post-World War II escape from Hungary to a successful escape during the Hungarian Revolution, to climbing the ranks of corporate America, ultimately establishing an investment company responsible for the creation of several successful new ventures. This deeply personal memoir captures the grit, humor, and determination of a man who took full advantage of the opportunities he encountered.
Through decades of transformation, from the rubble of postwar Europe to the boardrooms of global brands and the sunlit shores of Boca Raton, Herskovits offers a powerful testament to resilience and the enduring spirit of refugees experiencing freedom. His journey reminds us that success is not measured by titles or wealth, but by the strength of relationships and family ties and by the courage to adjust to circumstances and even start over when necessary.
If you have faced impossible odds and dreamed of redirecting your path, this book will inspire you to take the leap.
Order your copy of BUDAPEST to BOCA today and discover the power of perseverance, purpose, and possibility.

Herskovits has served on the Boards of Playtex, Halo Inc., Natural Golf Corporation, Liberty Tax, Franchise Group Inc., In-House Travel, Simon Delivers, B2BILT Inc., and City Lights Development Corp. He also serves as a member of the Harvard Nutrition Roundtable.
A proud Orangeman, Herskovits earned his BS in Architecture and MBA in Finance and Marketing from Syracuse University.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, Herskovits now lives in Boca Raton, Florida, with his wife Rita. She is the Director of the David M. Herskovits Foundation that honors their son David, who unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack at age 38. Their daughter, Kathryn, is Chief Operating Officer of the What If Media Group.
