Browere's Life Masks of Great Americans is a book written by Charles Henry Hart and published in 1899. The book is a collection of life masks, which are plaster casts of the faces of famous American figures. The masks were created by John Henri Isaac Browere, a renowned sculptor who worked in the early 19th century. The book features 64 life masks, including those of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln. Each mask is accompanied by a brief biography of the person depicted, as well as a description of the mask itself. The book provides a unique glimpse into the physical features of these historical figures, as well as their expressions and emotions. It also offers insight into the art of life mask making and its historical significance. Browere's Life Masks of Great Americans is a valuable resource for historians, art enthusiasts, and anyone interested in the lives and legacies of these iconic figures. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
