British War Medals And Other Decorations: Military And Naval (1866) is a comprehensive guide to the various medals and decorations awarded to British military and naval personnel during the 19th century. Written by J. Harris Gibson, a noted historian and expert on military awards, the book provides detailed descriptions and illustrations of the medals, as well as information on their history, design, and significance. The book is organized by the various campaigns and conflicts in which British forces participated during the 19th century, including the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimean War, and the Indian Mutiny. Each section includes a detailed overview of the campaign, as well as information on the medals and other decorations awarded to those who served. In addition to the medals themselves, the book also covers the various ribbons, clasps, and other accessories that were worn with them, as well as the regulations governing their award and wear. The book also includes a glossary of terms and a comprehensive index, making it an invaluable resource for collectors, historians, and anyone interested in the history of British military and naval awards. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
