Has Jesus Christ remained at the center of the modern Church-or has His name been retained while His authority, glory, and lordship are gradually diminished?
In a dispensation of growing religious activity, impressive ministries, popular worship movements, and influential Christian personalities, an important question demands honest examination: What happens when the Church mentions Jesus but no longer gives Him the preeminence? In Bringing Jesus Down, David Dare examines the ways in which the Person and work of Jesus Christ can be neglected, reduced, or displaced within contemporary Christianity. Through biblical reflection and strong pastoral exhortation, this book calls the Church and individual believers to reconsider what truly occupies the centre of their faith.

The book explores the dangers of a Christianity that:
This is not a call to reject the Church. It is a call for the Church to return to its true foundation.
It is a call to restore the preaching of Christ crucified and risen.
It is a call to recover reverence for the name of Jesus.
It is a call to place the Word of God above human preference and religious fashion.
It is a call to live under the lordship of the One who purchased the Church with His blood.
Jesus Christ is not merely a religious symbol, a source of earthly benefits, or a name to be mentioned in Christian activities. He is the eternal Son of God, the Saviour of the world, the Head of the Church, the risen Lord, and the coming King. The Church must not bring Jesus down to the level of human ambition. It must lift Him up in truth, worship Him in holiness, proclaim Him faithfully, and obey Him wholeheartedly.
If you desire to examine the spiritual condition of the modern Church and rediscover the centrality of Jesus Christ, this book offers a challenging invitation to return to the cross, the Scriptures, and the lordship of Christ. That in all things he might have the preeminence.
- Colossians 1:18, KJV Jesus Christ must have the preeminence-now, always, and forever.
- Emphasises blessings while neglecting the Blesser.
- Promotes religious performance while overlooking genuine devotion to Christ.
- Replaces Christ-centred preaching with motivational and self-focused messages.
- Treats Jesus as merely a historical figure or ordinary human being.
- Gives greater attention to spiritual gifts than to the Giver.
- Allows human leaders and celebrity culture to overshadow the Head of the Church.
- Elevates experiences, prophecies, and personal revelations above biblical authority.
- Neglects the cross, the blood, the death, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Uses the Name of Jesus while failing to submit to His Lordship.
