A Brief Dissertation On The Rise And Vicissitudes Of The United States by James Andrew McCormick offers a comprehensive overview of American history, focusing on the formative years and the individuals who shaped the nation. This volume features portraits and biographical sketches of forty American statesmen whose lives illuminated four pivotal epochs: 1761 to 1789, 1789 to 1824, 1824 to 1861, and 1861 to 1901. McCormick's work provides valuable insights into the political, social, and economic forces that influenced the United States during these critical periods.
The book serves as both a historical account and a biographical collection, making it an essential resource for understanding the evolution of American governance and the contributions of key figures in the nation's development. It offers a rich tapestry of historical analysis and personal narrative, enhancing our understanding of the individuals who influenced American history.
