An undead mother and daughter face down a strange community of killers in the fantastically sinister conclusion of the Blood Trilogy.

This is a terrific novel that takes the fast pace and tension of crime fiction and injects it with the explosiveness of a great vampire story.
--The New York Times Book Review for Blood Like Mine

Single mother Rebecca Carter and her eternally preteen daughter, Moonflower, have been living nomadically for the last two and a half years, feeding when they can on unsavory characters they catfish, then moving on before anyone notices them. One night the tables are turned, and mother and daughter are captured by a vigilante group who hunt the hunters. Their leader, Tom Burden, has killed their kind before, driven by grief for the wife and daughter he lost to monsters like Rebecca and Moonflower. But Tom's purpose is not to harm them, as much as he'd like to, but to bring them to a place where the always-hungry mother and daughter will no longer be a danger to anyone.

Solace lies hidden in the forest northwest of Seattle. The former summer camp is now a commune, a refuge for people like Rebecca and Moonflower and their loved ones. A place where those who share that hunger can feed without hurting others, where they can live in safety, and never have to run again. After years on the road, it sounds like heaven to Moonflower, but Rebecca is more cautious. They are greeted by the commune's leader, Dinah, a matriarchal figure who governs with a gentle hand. As Rebecca and Tom grow closer, a bond forms between Moonflower and Dinah, who reminds her of the beloved grandmother she left behind all those years ago.

It seems like they've finally found peace, but deep down, Rebecca knows something wicked lurks behind Solace's tranquil facade.
