A Blockchain-Enabled Inter-Domain Routing framework to address vulnerabilities in the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), such as route hijacking, attacks, inefficiencies, and privacy breaches. It proposes a hybrid blockchain solution that integrates traditional routing protocols with blockchain's distributed ledger technology, improving scalability, security, and data reliability. The Routing Policy Automation Chain (RPAChain) leverages blockchain and smart contracts to automate and enforce routing policies, reducing human errors and enhancing transparency. To enhance privacy, introduces a Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP)-based Route Verification Framework, using zk-SNARKs to secure sensitive routing information. The frameworks were tested using tools like NS-3, Mininet, and Hyperledger Fabric, showing up to 30-40% improvement in speed, policy efficiency, and attack resilience compared to traditional BGP systems. This research provides a deployable solution for secure, automated, and privacy-preserving inter-domain routing, benefiting ISPs and network operators.
