Blitz is a historical fiction novel written by Hetty Burlingame Beatty. The story is set during World War II and follows the life of a young girl named Peggy who lives in London. Peggy's world is turned upside down when the Blitz begins and bombs start falling on her city. She is forced to leave her home and move in with her grandparents in the countryside. As Peggy adjusts to her new life, she realizes that the war is affecting everyone around her. Her grandfather is a farmer and has to work harder than ever to keep their family fed. Her grandmother is a nurse and is constantly treating wounded soldiers. Peggy herself becomes involved in the war effort by collecting scrap metal and volunteering at the local hospital.Throughout the book, Peggy experiences both the fear and the resilience of the people of London during the Blitz. She witnesses firsthand the destruction caused by the bombing raids and the bravery of those who risk their lives to save others. She also learns the importance of coming together as a community during difficult times.Blitz is a heartwarming and inspiring story that captures the spirit of the British people during one of the most challenging times in their history. It is a reminder of the strength and courage that can be found in ordinary people during extraordinary circumstances.Saga Of A Fire Horse Who, Displaced By Motorized Fire Trucks, Is Sold To A Cruel Peddler, Is Rescued From A Horsemeat Factory, And Finally, Becomes A Hero In A Terrible Snowstorm. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
