Gen X: the forgotten middle child of generations.
We didn't get trophies. We didn't get attention. We didn't even get supervision. What we did get was sarcasm, dark humor, and enough independence to raise ourselves on Pop-Tarts, Saturday morning cartoons, and the soothing sound of dial-up internet.
We are the generation that:
Survived playgrounds made of steel and fire.
Rewound VHS tapes with pencils (be kind, rewind).
Paid more in Blockbuster late fees than in college tuition.
Bought the same music collection FIVE TIMES - vinyl, cassette, CD, MP3, and now streaming. (Record companies, you're welcome.)
Lived through fashion crimes involving neon, shoulder pads, and plaid flannel... sometimes all at once.
And through it all, our coping skill has always been sarcasm.
Bless Your Heart: Gen X Edition is a celebration of the eye-roll, the side-eye, and the whatever attitude that got us through latchkey childhoods and into adulthood with only minor trauma (and major caffeine dependence).
