What if the ancient stories of giants, fallen angels, and the Flood were fragments of a single forgotten history?
The Watchers were heavenly beings charged with observing humanity. But according to the ancient Enochic tradition, they abandoned their appointed place, descended to Earth, and took human women as wives. Their offspring became the Giants-the fearsome Nephilim and Men of Renown whose violence threatened to corrupt the entire world.
Yet the surviving account of their rebellion is scattered across damaged scrolls, competing versions, and texts separated for centuries. Without bringing these sources together, readers are left with only fragments of one of antiquity's most disturbing stories.
The Book of Giants restores those fragments to their larger context.
This in-depth reader's edition examines both major surviving traditions of the ancient work: the Aramaic fragments found among the Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumran and the Middle Persian version preserved by the Manichaean religion. It then reconnects the Book of Giants with the Book of Enoch, allowing the story of the Watchers and their offspring to be read as a broader, more coherent narrative.
Inside, you will:
Follow the Watchers from their heavenly rebellion to the birth of the Nephilim.
Examine the dreams, warnings, and approaching judgment recorded in the ancient fragments.
Compare the Aramaic Dead Sea Scroll material with the later Middle Persian tradition.
See how the Book of Giants may have once fit within the larger Enochic story.
Explore parallels found throughout the Bible, the Book of Enoch, and other apocryphal writings.
Investigate the startling theory that one member of the giant race may have survived the Flood.
The result is a panoramic examination of the Angels, the Watchers, the Nephilim, and the catastrophe intended to cleanse the Earth of their violence.
