The Ancon Peninsula, located in central and southern Cuba, is a nucleus of sun and beach tourism. This locality harmoniously mixes its four kilometers of beaches and its surroundings with other natural, patrimonial, urban and mountain attractions very close by, nucleated by the colonial village of Trinidad. One of the primordial needs for the effective conservation of the natural ecosystems of the place is the detailed knowledge of its biodiversity. In the case of the Ancon Peninsula, there are two previous studies focused on the preliminary inventory of the area and on the flora and vegetation, but very little is known about its avifauna; the importance of the present research lies in carrying out the first rigorous study of the avifauna present in the Peninsula, deepening the study carried out in the area. In order to fulfill this purpose, the inventory of its avifauna was carried out using the method of linear transects also known as census itinerary, performing 10 samplings of birds, during three days, and the main result obtained is the registration of 168 species, belonging to 111 genera, 47 families and 22 orders.
