Summary: A greedy squirrel wants to keep the new birdbath all to himself, the birds settle the dispute with a hockey game. When the referees are bribed, the birds call on an unexpected ally to help.

The birdbath was a perfectly peaceful, calm place to go until it all came crashing down with a wonky, wayward throw. Officer Hawk set out to find something to use in its place. Follow along on his adventure to see what obstacles he will face.

Part of the rhythm and rhyme children's picture book mini-series, Songbird Stories A Collection of Tales & Feathers. These tales are meant to inspire talks about behaviours and community interactions, based on true events in Eastern Ontario parks and backyards.

Dayna Pennock is a self-taught, first-time author and illustrator. Inspiration drawn from the imaginations of her husband and four children. To learn more about the origins of this tale and others, please visit our website www.songbirdstories.ca
