The Bird Who Says Hello: A Story of the Dash, Legacy, and Love That Continues

The first time Charlotte said hello to her great-grandpa, she was five years old.

A small bird had landed in the middle of the path, waiting.

In this thoughtful and gently powerful chapter book for ages 8-12, three children begin asking questions about the man they never met, a father, grandfather, Marine, advocate, and quiet hero who believed that what matters most is what we do with the dash between our birth and the star at the end.

Through birds, feathers, music, and memory, The Bird Who Says Hello explores legacy, kindness, courage, and the quiet ways love continues long after someone is gone.

Inspired by true events and real family history, this story invites readers to consider:

- What does it mean to fill your dash well?
- How do our choices shape generations?
- And how does love say hello again and again?

Tender, reflective, and rooted in real life, this is a story for families who believe that character matters more than applause, and that sometimes the softest greetings are the ones that last the longest.
