Biographical Sketch Of St. Thomas Of Canterbury is a book written by Mrs. Ward in 1880. The book is a detailed biography of St. Thomas Becket, a Christian martyr and the Archbishop of Canterbury in the 12th century. The book chronicles the life of St. Thomas, from his birth and early years to his rise to power as Archbishop and his eventual martyrdom. The book explores the political and religious climate of the time, and how St. Thomas became embroiled in a power struggle between King Henry II and the church. It delves into his conflicts with the king, his eventual exile, and his return to England, which ultimately led to his assassination in Canterbury Cathedral. The author also provides insight into the impact of St. Thomas's life and death on the church and society, and how he became a revered saint and martyr. The book is written in a clear and concise manner, making it accessible to readers of all backgrounds.
