Today, many voters falsely think US foreign policy has been noble since the US-Viet Nam War. For, a pervasive false claim about the US-Viet Nam War has misled many voters to unknowingly support business expansion by force overseas. The false claim is that the US entered Viet Nam in 1954. It is presented as a noble effort to fight communism.

Actually, US businesses ignobly entered Viet Nam in 1865, enabled by brute force of a French invasion. A US government consular office opened there in 1889. In 1954, after decades of those US operations, the French invasion fell in defeat. So, in 1954, US leaders took over the invasion. That was the real reason for the US-Viet Nam War.

That real reason has been a crucial part of a 1619-2024 practice of business expansion overseas, often by force, in disregard of diplomacy and fair trade.

So, US voters have been misled. Indeed, US leaders have ditched the US public on that false claim and on many other facts on Viet Nam and other wrongful uses of force since then.
