Jean's life was marked by hardship from the very beginning. Raised by her psychologically ill mother after her parents' divorce, she grew up amid instability and difficult circumstances. At age 20, she became involved with a Scillian gangster nearly 29 years her senior, leading her into a world of crime, drugs, violence, and ultimately 18 years with the state prison system, and 2-4 years with the Federal correctional facility. Following her release, Jean transformed her life and dedicated herself to helping others. She founded a transitional housing program, earned a master's degree in social work, obtained substance abuse counseling credentials, and began working with individuals facing addiction and mental health to serve her community while living by one simple belief.
