Garrett Kincaid spends a summer alone and aimless in Iceland, trying to find his way through life. Across five through-hikes that cover every corner of the country, Garrett meditates on the majesty of Nature, confronts the limits of his mortality, and finally learns a lesson or two from the wise people he meets along the way. At once philosophical and poetic, Beneath the Glacier will inspire you to venture out and explore within.
From the text: Beneath the glacier, there is a volcano. Maybe it will absolve us; maybe one day it will melt the glacier, before we have the chance to finish the deed slowly. But would that melt be a murder, or would it be as amoral as two wolf-cub siblings in a tussle, at play?
