Believe That you Have Received: A Treatise On Faith And The Priority of The Unseen Over The Seen

Most teaching on prayer leaves out the grammar.

In Mark 11:24 Yahushua uses three different times in a single sentence. Be believing - present, continuous, a state held rather than a moment passed through. That you received - aorist, finished, already taken. And it will be to you - still ahead. Read it as it stands and the order is unmistakable: a man is told to go on believing, now, that a thing was already received, while the appearing of it is still in front of him.

This book takes that sentence at its word and follows it as far as it goes.

If the receiving is finished at the asking, then prayer is not petition but the laying hold of what has already been given - and most of what passes for earnest prayer is an hour spent rehearsing lack. If forgiveness is received by believing it done, then healing and provision run on the same mechanism, and hedging one while never hedging the other is a double standard the text does not permit. If the unseen is the cause and the visible only its rendering, then consulting circumstances to verify faith reverses the order and cancels the thing it was trying to confirm.

From there the argument moves inward: to the spirit as the man himself and the flesh as the house he lives in, to the imagination as the faculty by which the unseen is laid hold of, to the inner man as the workshop where a life is actually made - and to why guarding it is the most practical instruction a man can be given.
