Sergeant Jim Callahan is a ninety-eight year old Army Veteran that served with the Army Ranger unit that was tasked with taking the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc during WW2. Jim has never shared his stories from the war with anyone, but now with his advanced age and deteriorating health he feels he needs to share his stories so they do not die with him. He invites two of his grandchildren to his home for the summer and he shares his stories. After the stories are told, he and his grandchildren decide to take a trip to France so Jim can witness Pointe du Hoc one final time.
