Long before she knew the woman who would one day become part of her family, Ruth was already praying for her.
Ruth prayed for a little redheaded boy she had not yet met, watched him grow, and believed God had a purpose for his life. She could never have imagined how that prayer would reach into the future-or how deeply it would touch a woman whose name she did not yet know.
Based on a true family story, Before She Knew My Name follows a Southern family across generations through childhood, joy, devastating loss, an unexpected calling, enduring love, and the quiet ways God works long before we understand what He is doing.
At the center of the story is a mother's faith and a prayer that outlived the woman who prayed it. Years later, a handwritten prayer discovered in a Bible, along with a pair of rings saved for a future daughter-in-law, would reveal just how far Ruth's faith had reached.
This is more than a story about a mother and son. It is a story about the people God is preparing before they ever meet, the prayers that continue to speak after the person who prayed them is gone, and the faith that trusts God with a future we cannot yet see.
For anyone who has ever wondered whether a prayer can reach into a future we cannot yet see, Before She Knew My Name is a reminder that God may already be writing the next chapter.
