Bath Time Bubbles is the second book in The Adventures of Alexis and Vincent, part of The Eyes of a Child(TM) collection by Australian author Jonathon Kelly.
Inspired by real childhood moments, the series follows brother and sister Alexis and Vincent as ordinary everyday experiences are transformed through curiosity, imagination, laughter and the wonderfully uncomplicated way children see the world around them.
In Bath Time Bubbles, the day is winding down and it is time for a bath - but for Alexis and her little brother Vincent, bath time is never simply about getting clean.
Before long, the bathtub is overflowing with imagination. Bubbles float through the air, water splashes, laughter fills the room and Mister Rubber Ducky becomes part of the adventure. What begins as an ordinary family routine becomes a playful world where even the smallest things can feel exciting and magical.
At the heart of the story is the relationship between Alexis and Vincent. Alexis, the older sister, shares the excitement with her much smaller toddler brother as they laugh, play and discover just how much fun can be found in a simple moment together.
As the bubbles begin to disappear and the final splashes come to an end, the energy of bath time gently transitions into the warmth and comfort of an evening at home. Wrapped in towels and dressed for bed, Alexis and Vincent settle down with Dad for a bedtime story before eventually drifting peacefully to sleep with their favourite companions nearby.
Through colourful illustrations and gentle storytelling, Bath Time Bubbles celebrates sibling relationships, family connection, imagination and the joy children can find in everyday routines.
Rather than searching for extraordinary adventures in extraordinary places, the story encourages young readers to recognise that some of life's happiest moments can happen right at home - in laughter shared with a brother or sister, a favourite toy, a bedtime story, or a bathtub filled with bubbles.
Written for young children and families to enjoy together, Bath Time Bubbles is designed to be both entertaining for children and meaningful for the adults reading alongside them. Its familiar setting makes the story easy for young readers to relate to, while its themes of family, imagination and childhood memories give the book a warmth that can be appreciated across generations.
The Eyes of a Child(TM) collection was created to preserve the wonder found in childhood and to celebrate the small moments that can become lasting memories. Through The Adventures of Alexis and Vincent, Jonathon Kelly draws inspiration from his own children and real family experiences, transforming those memories into stories that encourage children to explore, imagine, laugh and appreciate the people around them.
Bath Time Bubbles continues that journey with a playful and affectionate celebration of one of childhood's most familiar routines.
Because through the eyes of a child, even an ordinary bath can become an unforgettable adventure.
