Baptismal Records of the Dutch Reformed Churches in the City of Groningen, Volume 1, Netherlands 1640-1649

Dutch Reformed baptisms occurring in Martinikerk, the oldest church in Groningen, Netherlands were recorded beginning in 1640. This publication offers the first volume of records, covering the years 1640-1649. The author has taken time to alphabetize the records in three different ways: the child's given name, the father's given name, and the surname. Each entry includes: the year, month and day of the baptism; the church in which it occurred; The child's given name; the father's given name/child's patronymic; the father's patronymic; the mother's name and the family's address. After finding a child's parents, one can find the siblings by looking up the father's name. Important clues may be lurking among the names of the siblings; naming traditions of the Netherlands make these brothers and sisters especially significant.
