Balor With The Evil Eye: Studies In Celtic And French Literature is a book written by Alexander Haggerty Krappe that delves into the mythology and literature of the Celtic and French cultures. The book is divided into two parts, with the first part exploring the myth of Balor, a giant with an evil eye, in Celtic mythology. Krappe provides a thorough analysis of the various versions of the myth and the symbolism associated with it.The second part of the book focuses on French literature, specifically the works of Chrtien de Troyes and Marie de France. Krappe examines the themes of love, chivalry, and courtly romance in these works and how they relate to the larger cultural context of medieval France.Throughout the book, Krappe draws on his extensive knowledge of mythology, folklore, and literature to provide a comprehensive and insightful analysis of these topics. Balor With The Evil Eye is a valuable resource for anyone interested in Celtic or French literature and mythology, and is sure to deepen one's understanding of these rich cultural traditions. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
