The book titled The Back Blocks Of China: A Narrative Of Experiences Among The Chinese, Sifans, Lolos, Tibetans, Shans And Kachins is a first-hand account of the author's experiences while traveling through the remote regions of China in the early 20th century. The author, R. Logan Jack, was a Scottish missionary who spent several years living among various ethnic groups in the back blocks of China. The book is divided into several chapters, each of which focuses on a different ethnic group that the author encountered during his travels. These groups include the Chinese, Sifans, Lolos, Tibetans, Shans, and Kachins. Each chapter provides a detailed description of the customs, traditions, and way of life of these different groups, as well as the challenges and obstacles that the author faced while living among them.Throughout the book, the author provides a vivid and engaging account of his experiences, including his interactions with the local people, the landscapes and natural beauty of the region, and the difficulties he faced in trying to spread Christianity among these remote communities.Overall, The Back Blocks Of China is a fascinating and insightful book that provides a unique perspective on the culture and way of life of some of China's most remote and isolated communities.
