This book tells the story of my recovery and how I learned to accept my diagnosis. It describes through poetry the journey I have taken through inpatient units across the country to overcome PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-harm, and Crohn's and details the highs and lows of living life with autism. I started writing poetry when I was 11. It was a way in which I could express my deepest thoughts and feelings. Throughout this, I was bullied at school due to a late diagnosis of autism. When I was 16 I was diagnosed with autism whilst in a CAHMS unit. When I was 17 I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. My self-harm escalated and I was placed under the MHA for my own safety.
