Der hofische Liebesdiskurs war fur die Entwicklung von Sprache, Kunst und Musik im Mittelalter von groaer Bedeutung. Der Tagungsband, der 22 Beitrage einer internationalen Autorenschaft umfasst, widmet sich diesem Themenkomplex mit dem Ziel, die Rolle der Kunste in der mittelalterlichen Profankultur neu zu bestimmen. Analysiert wird ferner das Potential der Musik, gefuhls- und stimmungshafte Aspekte sowie die Sehnsucht des Individuums nach Transzendenz zum Ausdruck zu bringen. So eroffnet der Band Einblicke in die medienspezifischen Strategien, mit denen sich Kunstler und Kunstlerinnen an ihr Publikum wandten, und beleuchtet die Handlungszusammenhange, in die die Objekte hofischer Liebe eingebunden waren.
