Analecta Callimachea is a scholarly edition of the fragments of the Greek poet Callimachus (c. 310-240 BC), prepared by Karl Dilthey and originally published in 1865. This collection provides invaluable access to the surviving portions of Callimachus's work, a cornerstone of Hellenistic literature. Callimachus was a prolific and influential poet, known for his diverse output, including hymns, epigrams, and elegies. Although much of his work is now lost, the remaining fragments offer crucial insights into his poetic style and the literary tastes of his time. Dilthey's edition presents these fragments in Latin, accompanied by critical apparatus intended for advanced students and scholars of classical literature. This edition remains an essential resource for anyone studying Hellenistic poetry and the development of classical literary traditions.
