The then editor of Samaj, Dr. Radhanath Rath had suggested that a regular communication like this would be beneficial to people of Odisha. In his honor the effort started with the auxiliary benefit of keeping the practice of writing in Odia language. The articles have no specific goal other than informing people about various experiences and observations.
