Mathematics has long been known as the universal language. In Almighty God, Charles D. Landis uses the numerical values of the Hebrew and Greek alphabet (neither written language contains number characters) in an attempt to bridge the gap of mistrust, and sometimes outright hostility, between religion and science. Complex, repeating number patterns throughout the Bible have been well documented by Christian research. Because much of the focus of these studies involves prophecy, the more cautious of these scholars warn against using God's Word for divination or horoscope. Landis, however, looks not outward-though he does point out striking correlations among numerical values, calculated from Bible verses, and major historic events-but deeply inward at the majesty of God etched into even the smallest particles of Creation.
