When the dog, War Daddy, is traced to his origins, Shaye sets out on an epic (I know, I usually hate using that overused word; but this time, it's true) journey of trust to get War Daddy back home to someone who needs him more than himself. Along the way, Shaye finds out more about himself than most people do in a lifetime. There are treacheries, dishonesties, and dangers. There is also loyalty, courage, and love. I enjoyed this book for the adventure, cultures, and some surprises. This is the first time I have read this author, J.R. Rain. I found the mystical aspect in this book to be unusual, surprising in relation to the rest of it, but enjoyable.
