Natural talent, hard work, and a childhood friend help LaVern Whitaker find her calling as an actress. When her life becomes overwhelming, they discover a small, North Carolina town where her true identity can remain unknown and she can stay out of the spotlight. The more she visits her secret getaway, the more deeply she feels connected to the history, the lifestyle, and the people. Could this place be her home away from home, or become the home she has dreamed of? Or will sinister forces rip it all away?
Eric was born and raised in Baltimore City and graduated from City College, class of 1972. He graduated from Essex Community College and was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1974. He played six years in their organization. Eric has held many jobs in his life, from photographer to Lab Manager at LensCrafters, to driver for DHL to warehouse manager for R.E. Michel. He has been married to his wife Rhonda for thirty-four years and they have one daughter, Marti, and one granddaughter, Alex. Eric still lives with his family in the Original Northwood neighborhood of Baltimore. After he retired he decided to devote his time to writing. He has since finished a novel and is working on a second. He also has several complete short stories.
