Abraham Lincoln: A Poem is a literary work by Lyman Whitney Allen that explores the life and legacy of the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. The book is a collection of poems that are written in a narrative style, chronicling the key events of Lincoln's life, from his humble beginnings in a log cabin to his rise to the presidency and his ultimate assassination. The poems are written in a simple and accessible language, making them easy to understand for readers of all ages. They are also accompanied by beautiful illustrations that help to bring the story to life. The book is divided into several sections, each of which focuses on a different aspect of Lincoln's life. The first section, for example, explores Lincoln's early years and his struggles with poverty and loss. The second section focuses on his political career, including his debates with Stephen Douglas and his election to the presidency. Throughout the book, Allen portrays Lincoln as a complex and multidimensional figure, highlighting both his strengths and his flaws.
