This Novella is dedicated to all the honest healers in the past, the present and the future. To heal another animal or humankind is an honor. I tried to present to you, the reader, Aurelia as a dedicated woman of high integrity. And often, in our modern society, integrity and honesty are a rare commodity. And I attempted to describe Lucius, Aurelia's husband, also as a deeply dedicated animal healer. The other odd and lovely personas in this Novella are different and loving. The Seer, Luz, which means light in Latin, is not just a symbol of high perceptive powers but an often-perceived recluse, yet a woman who has tapped in and given the insights of Gnosis, unselfish spiritual power. Shenadoa, the girl with one arm from birth, an orphan, seeks to be a healer like Aurelia. Then, there is the Amadas, the boy who escaped an abusive orphanage, controlled by The Dove Persecutors, who plot constantly to overthrow Dove lands across the river from them. The Doves are people who have gathered in the Northern snow country to live in peace. Aurelia will have to face the greatest healing challenge of her life when she is forced to The Mainland to heal the dying daughter of The Mainland's leader, Ophelia.
