A collection of short fiction from some of the most talented young writers in Austin, Texas The Austin Student Anthology brings together the winning entries from the Big Bad Story Contest held by Greenleaf Book Group in the spring of 2010. Each of these 13 short stories clearly reflects a level of talent, dedication, and commitment on the part of the students-and the teachers and parents who supported their efforts. Students from Anderson High School, San Juan Diego Catholic High School, Premier High School-South, and Premier High School of North Austin contributed the distinguished stories collected in this anthology. Each of these stories speaks to the challenges faced by high school students as they move from childhood into a fast-changing and bewildering world. Readers of all ages will enjoy these provocative works of fiction that speak to the heart of the Texas experience. As a leading publisher of independent authors and supporter of small presses, Greenleaf Book Group is committed to nurturing writing talent in our local community and across the country. We believe that this anthology will encourage writers of all ages and will help make Austin the writing capital of the world.
