It's August, 1968 and the nation is divided, again, but not by party-it's generation versus generation, over a war, politics, race and social class.
And so comes the story of Steve, an affluent college student who with three friends are planning to avenge a dying uncle of one by stealing from a company in an attempt to commit the perfect crime at the perfect time, during the infamous Democratic Convention in Chicago.
But then in a summer school class Steve meets Lily, a working class girl who is part of the protest movement at the convention and who, along with the turmoil of the times, changes his life forever.
