Astronomical And Historical Chronology: In The Battle Of The Centuries is a book written by William Leighton Jordan and published in 1904. The book explores the relationship between astronomy and history, particularly in the context of the battle of the centuries - the debate over the exact length of a century. Jordan delves into the various methods that have been used throughout history to measure time, including the use of the sun, moon, and stars, and how these methods have influenced historical events. He also discusses the different calendar systems that have been used throughout history, such as the Julian and Gregorian calendars, and their impact on astronomical and historical chronology. The book is a fascinating exploration of the intersection between astronomy and history, and provides a unique perspective on the way in which human beings have measured and understood time throughout the ages. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
