In 2070 Texas, two street racers become devious rivals after a brief showdown. One is Franklin Blanchard, a young man of generational wealth, possessing a boyish aggression and happy disregard for his own safety. The other is Bethany Torres, a stoical and sarcastic motorcyclist who's spent most of her life as a drifter. In the normal course of their lives they should've never met, but after the first time they lock eyes, they keep coming back to each other.
There's no escaping who and what they are. Franklin can be a racer, or he can be an executive, but he cannot be both. Bethany has been reminded time and again by those around and above her that her place is at the bottom of society. However with each new encounter the bond between them continues to grow deeper. Until the races themselves are nothing but a pretense for their relationship.
Even as capable as they are, they're still just two people in a city of hundreds of thousands. There's no winning for either of them, but as Franklin learned after his first race, winning doesn't matter. It was about showing up, driving with all the skill and passion he had, then leaving a smashed up wreck on the side on the road. So they may not win, they may not even finish the race, but until it's all over, neither Franklin nor Bethany are gonna take their foot off the gas.
