Synopsis

Dr. Lima Navarro once believed the Earth could be healed.

An environmental scientist with a brilliant mind and an almost religious devotion to restoration ecology, she spends her life studying collapsing ecosystems, poisoned rivers, and forests that refuse to grow back. She is soft-spoken, fiercely intelligent, and deeply idealistic-convinced that science, if applied with enough compassion, can still save what humanity has broken.

Her partner, Dr. Reyna Caldwell, is a climate ethicist who believes change must come through policy, protest, and human accountability. Together, they form a quiet, intimate partnership rooted in shared urgency and love-a belief that the world is still worth saving because it is still capable of being saved.

But the world does not agree.

As Lima's research deepens, she uncovers something far worse than environmental collapse: deliberate ecological sabotage disguised as development, corporate systems designed not just to exploit nature but to permanently destabilize it, and political structures that treat extinction as collateral profit.

At first, she fights harder.

She publishes. She testifies. She builds models, presents irrefutable data, and watches it be buried under funding reports and corporate denial.

Then the first field site burns.

A protected wetland she spent five years restoring is drained overnight for mineral extraction.
