An Artist's Vision of Winterreise is based on the masterpiece created by the German Romantic poet Wilhelm Müller, made more famous by the composer Franz
Schubert, who set it to music in the popular song cycle Winterreise.
Drawing on a German childhood surrounded by song and poetry, Elisabeth added her own interpretation and background to bring together an enriching experience of
art and poetry.
Each of the twenty-four poems is complemented by one of her paintings designed to enhance the emotional connection of this hauntingly beautiful story.
The poems are presented in the original German and a new English translation. They are more readable, rather than singable, and offer a more authentic text.
